The jam-packed festival program includes some of Melbourne's most-loved chefs and wine experts who will host interactive cooking demonstrations in a dedicated marquee.

This Spring, Henry and The Fox, Bohemian Bar and Restaurant, BangPop and Akachochin are hosting an exciting range of exclusive dining events, which celebrate the best of local, seasonal produce.

The six registered Oktoberfest breweries include the Augustiner-Brau, Hacker-Pschorr-Brau, Lowenbrau, Paulaner, Spatenbrau and Staatliches Hofbrau-Munchen, and this year the Royal Melbourne Oktoberfest 2017 festival is proudly boasting that they will be pouring samples from each of the official six.

Last year a friend and I participated in the inaugural 6km Harvest Run event and we had such a great time running in the event, and spending the rest of the day exploring the stunning Yarra Valley that we've both signed up for the longer challenge this year and can't wait.

It's hard to imagine a 'show' set in the suburbs being so it big it attracts close to 30,000 people each year.
